Discover the Alps from Niedernsill

Niedernsill is surrounded by many mountains that reach over 3,000 metres in height. Also, from Niedernsill, it’s not far to the almost legendary “Grossglockner” – the highest mountain in Austria! The small town lies in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, which is ideal for exploring on hikes and cycling tours. Along the way, you might even spot an alpine chamois, a marmot or two or even an alpine ibex! While some go hiking and climbing in the summer, others are enchanted in the region by the winter-time snow. Cross-country skiing and skiing down the slopes are of considerable importance when it comes to a winter holiday in Niedernsill! As well as the region’s well-known ski resorts, the “Naglköpfl” adventure mountain awaits you right on your doorstep. Children and young people can also let off steam here because, in addition to regular skiing, they can also try other types of winter sports.
